One man’s trash is another man’s treasure but in some cases one man’s trash is just, well trash. I love swap parties but in more than one occasion, I have come home with more trash than I’d care to admit. Really, I was never going to wear that baby pink trucker cap. For those not familiar with these parties, here’s how it works. You bring a bag of items that you no longer need but is still in reasonably good condition, get a coupon in exchange for it and swap your items for other people’s stuff. Sounds easy right? The only catch, the massive temptation to get your hands on everything! My advice would be to maybe draw up a list of things you need before you go. Oh, who am I kidding! Go, grab and enjoy! It’s all for the great cause of recycling after all.

Night markets in certain parts of Asia like in Singapore and Malaysia are called pasar malam. They are filled with cheap knick knacks and food you didn’t think was possible to deep-fry. In short, they are amazing. At The Rocks Markets by the Moonlight, expect a classy version of a pasar malam replete with warm summer nights and food stalls from around the world. From a dim sum station to Spanish paella with complimentary wine tasting, it’s all happening at The Rocks. There will also be artwork, fashion accessories, homeware and jewellery on show.
